| Agastache mexicana, also known by its common name
Mexican Giant Hyssop or by its synonyms Brittonastrum
mexicana or Cedronella mexicana, is an erect bushy, lemon
scenmted, short lived perennial with ovate to lance-shaped
leaves, and bearing spikes of rose-red blooms in mid-late
summer. It requires moderately fertile, well drained soil in
full sun and will attain a height of 24-36" (60-90cm) and a
width of 12" (30cm). A native of Mexico, this species is
rated for hardiness in USDA Zones 7-11. |

Agastache mexicana 'Mauve Beauty',
has aromatic leaves and spikes of pinkish-mauve flowers all summer.
It grows best in fertile, well drained soil and full sun. Under these

is an aromatic perennial whose leaves smell like licorice. It requires

Agastache mexicana 'Pink Lemonade'
an Agastache mexicana x Agastache barberi cross, is an erect perennial
with 18" (45cm) spikes of compact cymes containing tubular
pink flowers from mid-summer to frost. It has a faint lemon
scent and is very showy in appearance. It requires a fertile
well drained soil and full sun to avoid becoming leggy. It is
rated for USDA Zones 6-9 and is tolerant of humidity. Due to its
brilliant appearance, this specie should be placed in a high
